FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASECEL-500 Real time third octave band analyzers updatedToday's date -- August 8, 2002 Casella USA announces the latest update to the top of the range CEL-500 series instruments. Up until now all single dynamic range CEL-500 models have been supplied with the standard software, dB1 for download and instrument control. This text-based program allows the user to export downloaded results to external spreadsheets where time history information and spectral data can be viewed as a graph. From now on all CEL-573 analyzers that feature data logging capability will be supplied with a copy of the dB2 graphing program that allows users to see the results of their measurements without having to export results. Cursors are provided to make readout of specific values at selected points on the graph. For purchasers of the CEL-593 top of the line models a copy of dB3 software will be provided to complement the rapid data storage option Fastore that comes with every CEL-593 model. The Fastore option allows spectral data to be saved at rates as fast as 100 times a second to study very fast transient signals. Any of the CEL-500 series instruments can be fitted with the Building Acoustics option to enable reverberation times and transmission loss studies to be undertaken in the field. For this application the CEL-500 meters can be supplied with the dB4 software package to download and view stored data. A number of standard single number indices can be calculated by the CEL software such as the SIC and IIC results. A Loudness measurement option for sound quality work further extends the flexibility of the CEL-500 series real time analyzers. Visit the CEL-500 page for further details of these analyzers.
