A new version of the Nomad portable weather station is now available for users who require a quick and accurate unit to monitor the most popular weather parameters of wind speed and direction. Based on the popular standard Casella Nomad that has all 7 sensors included with it the new Nomad concentrates on providing data for the two key parameters for added simplicity.

The new Nomad Wind system provides a measurement instrument that can be assembled and up and logging in under 5 minutes collecting data from the high quality wind speed and wind direction sensors.  The other 5 sensors for temperature, air pressure, relative humidity, solar radiation and rainfall remain available as options to add to the basic wind measurement system as the user's requirements grow.

The new Nomad includes the rugged Sensus data logger that can store over 150,000 data points using the onboard memory. Memory capacity can be expanded using the popular Compact Flash storage cards for non volatile and ruggedized data storage. A solar panel is fitted as standard to charge a built in rechargeable battery pack on all Nomad systems that will ensure the safe collection of weather parameters for over 30 days even in overcast situations.

An auto generated alarm feature based on set limits for the measured parameters will be appealing for all those users who wish to check compliance of measured wind levels with selected limits such as for storm warnings or chemical spills around residential properties.
