CASELLA USA Launches New version of Nomad weather station for first responders

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Casella Nomad for first responders in emergency situations

Today's date -- Mar 1, 2004

Casella USA are proud to announce the release of the latest addition to the range of Nomad portable weather stations. The new version has all the necessary sensors and interfaces to link with the standard ALOHA software program suite. This will appeal particularly those who need to be able to predict the outcome of chemical spills and gaseous leaks close to neighboring properties.

Wind speed, direction, temperature and relative humidity are measured by the Nomad and output to a linked pc running the ALOHA software. Chemical data from the companion program CAMEO can be added to the weather data and then fed to the MARPLOT section where a footprint of the likely effect can be seen on screen. This allows the size and possible direction of the hazard to be monitored and predicted so that residents can be warned or evacuated as required.

The new Nomad will appeal to all those agencies who are responsible for such chemical spills as it is fully portable, comes in just 2 bags that can be carried by one person and setup monitoring in under 5 minutes.

The Nomad provides a direct output in the specified format that can be linked to the  ALOHA/CAMEO/MARPLOT software running the popular MS Windows operating system.
