Casella USA are proud to announce the release of the latest
addition to their noise products in North America. Two, all new,
acoustic calibrators designed to satisfy the
latest international requirements for these devices are being introduced as
accessories to the popular range of noise measurement instruments.
The CEL-110/2 Acoustic calibrator generates a stable level of
114 dB at a frequency of 1 kHz and is intended to be used with the CEL-200
series simple sound level meters and the CEL-300 series of personal noise
dosimeters. The CEL-110/1 is an advanced version featuring the 114 dB level plus
a second calibration level at 94 dB also at 1 kHz. This unit is designed to
fulfill the tighter tolerances needed for type 1 sound level meters and real
time analyzers such as the CEL-400 and CEL-500 series products.
The two calibrators share a compact body and can accommodate
both standard half inch microphones directly and quarter inch microphones with
the included coupler. Compensation circuits in the designs keep the calibrators
locked on the right frequency and level over a very wide range of environmental
influences. It is no longer necessary to make adjustments when out in the field
for the day to day changes in local air temperature and pressure.
The calibrators feature a large liquid crystal display that
shows exactly what is being produced as far as output signal is concerned and
warns if the microphone is not fitted correctly. An auto off function switches
the power off the the calibrator when the microphone is removed thereby saving
battery so that an estimated life of up to 3 years can be achieved at normal
usage rates. The new calibrators are smaller and lighter than the previous
models that they replace making field measurements even easier and convenient.
