Casella USA launches Apex IS personal sampling pumps at AIHA show in Anaheim, California

Casella USA have just released the long anticipated intrinsically safe version of the popular personal sampling pump. Testing is finally over and the pumps have been granted UL and ATEX approvals for use in many hazardous areas. Two versions are offered; a standard and a pro version featuring programmable start and stop timers and a useful TWA mode that spreads a measurement out over the whole day. The new pumps will be
called the Apex Standard IS and the Apex Pro IS and will have many of the
special features that have made the regular versions so popular. The pumps comply
with the methodologies mandated in NIOSH 0600 requirements as well as all of the
EN and MDHS standards for personal sampling. |

Long battery life from the new IS NiMH battery pack gives up to 40 hours running time on a full charge. Rapid charging in under 4 hours will keep the pump operational even from fully discharged. A single 1 hour charge ensures that there is enough running time for a full 8 hour shift. The Apex IS pumps can be used with a low flow adaptor to give flow rates from 5 to 750 ml/min for use with vapor detection tubes and other typical accessories. Flow control accuracy is better than ±3% and the units are extremely stable with calibration being held for at least a month. A wide range of accessories, sampling heads, size selective filters and gas bag collection are available from Casella USA to compliment the new Apex IS pumps in the field.
