Casella USA announce the launch of the CEL-320IS & 360IS for workplace noise monitoring

Casella USA has introduced some new additions to their popular range of personal noise dosimeters. The new CEL-320IS and CEL-360IS compliment the existing range of lightweight units that have been currently available. Now the IS CEL noise dosimeters can be used where there is concern due to the hazardous nature of the environment. The dosimeters carry the IS approval ATEX EEx ia I M1 corresponding to EEx ia T4 II 1 G certificate number 05ATEX2027X. The dosimeters will appeal to users to measure noise exposure in many mines, printing works, chemical and petrochemical plants and other similar locations where there is concern about high noise levels. Both new instruments feature preprogrammed setups ready for the user to simply switch on and start recording without having to worry about choosing the right parameters. Pre defined named setups allow for easy measurement of noise in the workplace according to OSHA, MSHA, NIOSH and ACGIH requirements. The CEL-320IS and 360IS will measure the actual noise dose, the 8-hour projected noise dose using either 1 or 2 thresholds with the appropriate exchange rate of 3, 4 or 5 depending on the setup selected. The time average level plus the TWA are computed for both 8 hours and a user selectable workday if other than a standard day. Maximum, minimum and peak levels are captured for an accurate and comprehensive picture of the noise exposure. The CEL-360IS is also a data-logging unit and will allow the user to store up to almost a quarter of a million time history data points for a better understanding of the variation of the noise levels over the measurement time. This allows the efforts for noise control to be concentrated in the periods of highest noise exposure so that they are most cost effective. The CEL360IS also features a comprehensive set of delay timers that can be made to control the collection of noise readings automatically up to 1 month in advance. Manual collection of noise data is also possible for variable or fixed periods of time right from the keypad of the dosimeter. The CEL-320IS and 360IS noise dosimeters are provided as complete kits including a matching acoustic calibrator and powerful download software. Single kits and 5 and 10 packs are available to suit the customer’s requirements for a comprehensive noise evaluation program.
