Casella CEL engineers have designed a
new version of their popular rainfall logging system based on the tipping bucket
rain gauge and a new data logger. The data logger is housed in a small
waterproof case that can fit inside the tipping bucket.
A variety of download options are available that include
simple RS232 cable to a pc, GSM phone modem or wireless
(coming later). The logger has capacity to store over 13,000 data sets in a non
volatile memory. Software is available for both the pc and popular PDA's running
PocketPC operating system.
Power is supplied from a set of 4 AA size batteries that can
run the logger for up to 5 years unattended ensuring long operational life. 3
versions of the tipping bucket are available to provide for low, medium or high
rainfalls.
