Casella USA are very pleased to announce a winner for their recent competition held at the AIHCE in the Toronto Convention Center in June. Sonia Rogers from Environmental Solutions in Bozeman, MT correctly guessed to total number of models that are available in the new range of Tuff air sampling pumps. She wins a complete top of the range pump kit including a Tuff 4 Pro with an enhanced rechargeable battery pack and charger plus infra red interface and software in a compact kit case.

 
The Tuff pump is available in 2 flow rates giving up to 3 l/m or 4.5 l/m maximum flows and down to a low end of 800 ml/m in the basic unit. Lower flows from 10 to 750 ml/m can be achieved with the use of a standard low flow adaptor that connects to the inlet of the pump for vapor and gas sampling. A standard capacity 1700 mAhr NiMH battery pack is available plus an option enhanced capacity 2700 mAhr pack. Charging is performed quickly and easily with a neat drop-in charger base that is available in either single or three way configurations with associated power supply.

The Tuffs are available in three functionality variants including a Standard, entry level pump with simple on/off control only. A mid range Plus variant adds fixed duration measurements and direct setting of the required flow rate without the need for an extra flow rate calibrator. At the top of the range is the Tuff Pro model that provides programmable start and stop times and infra red download of key run information to the associated Pump Manager software.

With a total combination of 2 maximum flow rates, 3 model variants, 2 battery pack options and 2 charger options there are currently 24 different configurations of the Tuff air sampling pump that the user can choose from. This range is set to expand in the future as the pending intrinsically safe approval is obtained to enable the Tuffs to be used in hazardous areas such as refineries and other petro-chemical locations.

 

Sonia Rogers was very pleasantly surprised to learn that she had been chosen at random from the many correct entries received on Casella USA's booth during the 3 day show at the Toronto Convention Center in early June.

She told us that the pump kit would be a welcome addition to their small but growing industrial hygiene business in Montana. Environmental Solutions has been in business for over 8 years now and has Sonia and her husband have been working full time performing surveys for their expanding list of regular clients.

 

Image here shows the Tuff 4 Pro sampling pump plus its enhanced battery pack option and single way drop in charger base. The kit includes a worldwide universal power supply unit and a foam lined kit case.

Kits are possible for packs of 1 to 5 Tuff pumps and associated accessories or anything in between. Simply choose the Tuff model that is right for your special application and add what you need to make the kit of your choice.

All Tuff models comply with NIOSH 0600, EN1232 and MDHS 14/3 methods.
